Unlike other Youtube channels we have looked at Ben’s content is aimed squarely at those already versed in computer science and engineering. This isn’t one for beginners … but that doesn’t mean there aren’t tonnes of new things learn.
The channel normally features tutorial-style videos about electronics, computer architecture, networking, and other technical subjects.
Ben Eater is a self-taught engineer who has a passion for explaining complex concepts in a way that is easy for anyone to understand.
Alongside videos on computer architecture, digital logic, and microcontrollers there are also videos that demonstrate how to build electronic projects from scratch, including everything from simple circuits to more advanced projects like building a computer from individual components.
Ben has some serious engineering educational chops. Previously he managed platform engineering at Khan Academy after joining back in 2011 as lead exercise developer and building over a hundred interactive math exercise modules. Before that, he worked on networking hardware at his own startup and previously at larger tech companies in sales and engineering roles.
