Technology which allows users to find out the sugar content in fruit or the fat in a piece of cheese could soon be widespread within a few years. Israeli start-up company, Consumer Physics, have developed the small molecular scanner and predict that it could be fitted into every smartphone within a few years.
The scanner is said to have “endless” possibilities and could be used for policing, even identifying if a drug is counterfeit or an illegal substances by deciphering the objects unique molecular fingerprints.
