Friday saw the launch of the much anticipated “Made Here Now” campaign, aimed at highlighting the achievements of British manufacturing and offering practical advice to those wishing to pursue a career in the industry. The brainchild of former Financial Times Manufacturing Editor Peter Marsh, British manufacturing heavyweights such as AES, Bentley Motors, Plessey Semiconductors and FormFormForm are some of the first to sign up to allow authors and journalists to explore their factory floors. The campaign was launched at a reception of 150 people at New London Architecture (NLA) – with the event including a 1:2000 scale model of London commissioned by NLA and built by design group Pipers.
