Iranian scientists use inter-species cloning to give birth to an endangered Mouflon

The animal was given birth to by a domestic sheep, which is an entirely different species from the baby Mouflon, an endangered type of sheep.

The cloning is one of the first such examples in the world, and the biomedics who worked on the project said they hope the technique could be used to help protect and repopulate endangered species around the world.
