Dyson are always looking for new engineering talent but have taken a slightly different approach in their search for the best and brightest software Engineers.
Dyson used a rather cryptic youtube video (below) to challenge people’s “problem-solving, creativity and technical expertise in the connected home”.
Individuals and teams that found the access code in the film were invited to a secret location in Brixton over the weekend. They were then asked to enter “The Smart Rooms” and complete a series of “Crystal Maze”-style challenges.
The players were asked to navigate four rooms (a kitchen, a kids’ bedroom and a garage). Players were allowed to ask the Twitch audience team for advice at any time by placing objects or words under four spotlights as they competed to complete the challenges set for them.
Welcome to the Smart Rooms. The ultimate test. Do you have what it takes? https://t.co/8jA3s07pKZ … #SmartRooms pic.twitter.com/xVmUZOoXVk

The idea was that participants would work together at making a connected home smarter to a timer – with Dyson testing not just their computer skills but logic too.
