UK to trial on-the-go charging for electric vehicles

Highways England has started research into the wireless charging technology, which could significantly increase the popularity of electric cars. The tests will replicate motorway conditions, and place equipment under the road, which connects wirelessly with a charger in the car. This then charges the battery, whilst the car is moving, meaning motorists will not have to stop to charge their vehicle. If successful, on-road trials could be the next step.
