Surgeons use lasers to detect and remove brain tumour

Surgeons in London have used lasers to diagnose abnormal tissue during an operation to remove a brain tumor – the first time such an operation has taken place in Europe. The patient, Reuben Hill, 22, was asked by doctors to sing during the operation, to ensure the surgeons didn’t damage nearby parts of the brain used for speech. The “iKnife” technology could be a revolutionary tool in the fight against cancer.
