Exports drive UK car growth

November saw a 10.8% increase in the production of cars to be exported due to greater demand from abroad. Increased demand from markets overseas helped to boost monthly production.

Last month, 150,084 cars were built and he most recent figure shows an increase of 3.8% production on the same period last year, with over 1,472,800 cars being produced.

The data shows that 80.3% of November’s car production was for foreign markets, a 1.1% increase on November 2014.
