Boeing’s UK President speaks out about lack of STEM graduates in the UK

In the opening remarks of this year’s STEMtech conference and showcase, Boeing UK and Ireland’s President, Sir Michael Arthur, spoke about the current lack of STEM graduates in the UK and the need to encourage more youngsters to take up careers in STEM in order for the UK to remain a “manufacturing powerhouse.” Sir Michael revealed that the current number of 2,000 engineering graduates a year in the UK is only 20 per cent of the number of engineers needed to fill the job vacancies in the country.
