Researchers claim nuclear fusion financially viable in decades

Fusion reactors could become an economically viable means of generating electricity within a few decades, a team of UK researchers has claimed. The group, from Durham University and Culham Centre for Fusion Energy in Oxfordshire, have re-examined the economics of fusion and taken into account recent advances in superconductor technology. If their research accurate, fusion could provide a cheap and clean source of energy for the world’s needs.
