Baby beats leukemia by having gene therapy

Last week, a one-year-old girl was saved from leukemia by undergoing experimental gene therapy at Great Ormond Street Hospital. Whilst she has not yet been given the all-clear, it is a huge step forward for this kind of gene therapy technique. It is thought that gene editing, which is already an existing treatment to battle cancer, will increase its potential, becoming more widely available and even more powerful.
