UK Engineering will take centre stage at the GREAT Festival of Innovation in Hong Kong in March.

The Great Festival of Innovation Hong Kong will be the third of its kind and follows similar events in Istanbul (2014) and Shanghai (2015).

The central vision is to create long-term partnerships that drive the future of free trade and prosperity between the UK and Asia and a host of leading figures from engineering and the sciences are among the key speakers this year.

Other topics this will explore the circular economy and progress towards sustainability in consumer goods; a look at the future of the space industry, and a unique session exploring how the UK and Asia are pioneering smart city systems by integrating a range of mapping, logistics and sensor technologies.

Outside of the official programme, the Festival will offer specially-invited UK business leaders the chance to meet counterparts from across Asia to discuss possible future trading and investment opportunities.

The festival will tackle the role the UK will play in managing population growth in the future, the challenges surrounding transportation, the development of ‘smart’ cities and emerging technologies in the world of communication.

It will take place between the 21-24 March 21-24 and is organised by the UK’s Department for International Trade.
