The Academy, through its Enterprise Hub, will provide funding, mentoring and support to four new businesses. These include plasma implants for glass products, a new malaria treatment that helps with drug-resistance, high-resolution displays for wearable technology and a personalised molecular biology lab. The overall winner of the ERA Foundation Entrepreneurs’ Award was Dr Matthew Murray for his company Alpin, which allows anti-counterfeit plasmas to be implanted into glass.
