Number of trees on earth estimated to be three trillion

According to a team from Yale, there are just over three trillion trees on Earth today. The use of a better method for counting the trees beneath the canopy has led to this new figure, which is eight times higher than the previous estimate of around 400 billion. What is made clear from this is the effect that humans are having on the number of trees on Earth, with a third of a percent of trees being lost by net each year, which is likely to rise in the future.
