New farming robot debuted by Bosch

One of the world’s most efficient farming robots has been developed by Deepfield Robotics, a startup owned by Bosch. The German manufacturer’s ‘Bonirob’ uses LIDAR and satellite navigation to operate itself, to the nearest centimeter, with little human interaction.

The robot is able to cover a wide area of cropland and can speedily identify the presence of plants by using a complex camera and advanced software. The ‘Bonirob’ is hoped to assist farmers with improving crop yields and to make better, more informed choices of plants.
