IChemE backs call for immigration rethink

The Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) has declared its support for the Campaign for Science and Engineering’s (CaSE) call to adopt a more balanced approach to immigration policy. CaSE had a report on immigration policy published in the House of Lords last week, in which it warned that anti-immigration and current Government policy could damage the UK’s future economic and scientific success. Commenting on the news, IChemE’s communications director Andrew Furlong said, “If Britain is to maintain its status as a world leader in science and engineering, we should welcome foreign talent.
