Google to launch ‘Project Wing’ in 2017

Google has announced plans to start its drone delivery service to customers by 2017.

Known as ‘Project Wing’, Google has entered talks with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) about setting up an air traffic control system for drones and has hopes that a drone registry system could be set up within the next 12 months.

Following in the footsteps of rival Amazon, Google would use cellular and internet technology to coordinate the drones, which would fly at altitudes under 152 meters
