Engineers from the University of Warwick have been using sophisticated infrared backlighting and cameras to examine protective barriers and insecticides against mosquitoes. Every hour of operation captures over 300,000 pictures, giving them what is so called ‘big-data’. To analyse such a volume of data they were required to write their own software, which has provided some interesting findings so far.
