Scientists created malaria-free mosquito

Using genetic technology, scientists have managed to create a malaria-free mosquito that could potentially eradicate malaria.

It is a disease that affects an estimated 300-500 million people annually. The technology used causes the disease-free trait to be inherited by virtually all of the mosquito’s offspring.

Scientists say the genetically engineered mosquitoes cannot pass malaria to humans, but can pass on its immunity to the disease.
