Pigeon Air Patrol to test pollution levels with sensors attached to birds’ wings

Pigeon Air Patrol, a project stemming from an idea put forward to a Twitter competition, allows Twitter users to track pollution levels thanks to sensors strapped to ten pigeons flying around London.

The tiny lightweight sensors, developed by Plume Labs, monitor nitrogen dioxide (NO2) and ozone concentrations, and users can find out the pollution levels of the pigeon closest to them by tweeting their location to @PigeonAir.
