LED’s can be created from food and drinks waste

LED’s are already an efficient light production method – they direct 80% of the energy they consume towards producing light, instead of heat, as a conventional bulb does. LED’s can now be constructed from the organic products of otherwise unused food waste by reducing the material to ‘Carbon Dots,’ with the added bonus of no toxic by-products.
