Ionic liquids used to monitor air quality
Researchers at the Max Planck Institute in Zurich have developed a CO2 sensor that can monitor air quality for scuba divers and mountaineers. It uses a type of salt called ionic liquid that allows the device to be much smaller and simpler than existing CO2 sensors.
