Sir John Armitt calls on civil engineering industry to innovate and inspire

Sir Armitt delivered his inaugural speech, ‘Civil Engineers: Shaping ourselves and our world’, at the Institute of Civil Engineers headquarters as he became the 151^st President of the Institution.

He begun by telling the audience how he had been inspired to start a career in civil engineering and  said he would like to see the Institution fulfill its role as the home of infrastructure.
