According to a new report published by Engineering UK, for every new job created in engineering, two more are created outside of the sector. The report, titled “Engineering UK 2016: The state of engineering”, also found that 27% of total UK GDP is generated by engineering and that turnover in the sector had grown by 3.4% to £1.21tn. Commenting on the findings, Chief Executive of EngineeringUK, Paul Jackson, said, ‘Engineering is a growth industry that has the potential to continue to drive productivity in the UK.”
