Electric vehicles may soon be cheaper to run than petrol cars

New research has been published which suggests that in the 2020s, cars run on electric batteries will become cheaper to run than their petrol counterparts. Bloomberg New Energy Finance’s research claims that the price of battery technology will fall dramatically due to new emerging chemistries, and that sales of electric vehicles will massively increase, so that by 2040 one third of all vehicles sold will be electrically powered.
