Create the Future report shows engineering is vital for economic growth

The Queen Elizabeth Prize for engineering released its Create the Future report today. The report was commissioned to mark the presentation of the Queen Elizabeth Prize to Dr Robert Langer FREng for his pioneering work in developing a large molecular delivery system to treat diseases such as cancer. The report is an international survey of attitudes towards engineering. Its findings included that engineering was the profession seen as the most vital for economic growth, with 71% believing that the contribution engineers make to society is undervalued and 57% saying engineering is critical to solving global problems.
