Sabin Civil Engineering was founded in 2012 by Sabin Mathew, a postgraduate of IIT Delhi. The channel aims to explain engineering topics simply, using experiments and clear illustrations.

Videos use 3D animation to take apart famous structures and machines. Topics include bridges, skyscrapers, tunnels, trains and the parts inside a car. Most videos are short and focused, explaining one idea well. Newer videos look at major construction projects around the world and the problems their engineers faced.

Some highlights include:

This video explains why train wheels are shaped the way they are and how that shape keeps trains on the track around bends.

This is one of the clearest introductions to civil and structural engineering on YouTube. It also covers plenty of mechanical engineering, such as how a differential works. Students choosing A levels or thinking about a civil engineering degree or apprenticeship will find it a useful way to see what the subject involves. Most videos are short enough to watch in a spare few minutes, and the animations make ideas stick. They also work well as a quick introduction before reading more deeply about a topic.
