John Wheal, systems engineer at NATS

John Wheal is a systems engineer at NATS, which provides air traffic control services in the UK. He is part of a team designing and building the next generation of air traffic control systems. Those systems keep air passengers safe, so it’s vital that John and the team get them right.

John studied computer engineering at the University of Portsmouth. He won the Institution of Engineering and Technology’s Technician of the Year award in 2017.
