MIT develop power converter chip

A new power converter chip that can last for months without charge has been designed by researchers at MIT. The chip can directly power a device whilst using a solar cell to charge a battery, a feature which previous power converter chips were unable to do. The chip also saves space on a circuit board due to the mechanism only using a single inductor.
