Chinese scientists attempt to edit genomes of human embryos

Chinese scientists have confirmed rumours that they have carried out experiments to edit the genomes of human embryos, the purpose of which is to remove genetic diseases. The scientists used 86 “non-viable” embryos, although the experiment was only successful on a few that were tested.
