Tyler DeWitt’s channel is a library of chemistry lessons aimed at students in high school and early university. He has not uploaded new videos since early 2024, but the existing library remains a popular revision resource.

The videos cover the core topics of introductory chemistry: balancing equations, the mole, ionic and covalent bonding, oxidation numbers, gases, thermochemistry and nuclear chemistry. He uses a whiteboard style with plenty of analogies and worked practice problems, and takes each idea slowly. Some videos are aimed at American exams such as AP Chemistry, but the chemistry itself matches what UK students study at GCSE and A level.

Some highlights include:

A set of practice problems on balancing chemical equations, worked through step by step.

Chemistry sits underneath chemical engineering, materials science, energy and the battery industry. Getting confident with the basics here makes A level chemistry, and the first year of many engineering degrees, much easier. It is especially useful for students who want a second explanation of a topic that did not click in class. The practice problem videos also work well as quick revision before a test.
