Engineering YouTube channel
The official channel of the robotics company behind the Spot and Atlas robots. Suits anyone excited by robotics and how machines learn to move.

This is the official channel of Boston Dynamics, a company that designs and builds advanced robots. Its best known machines are Spot, a four legged robot, and Atlas, a humanoid robot.
Most videos are short demonstrations of what the robots can do: walking over rough ground, opening doors, picking things up and working in factories and industrial sites. Some are playful, such as robots dancing. Others show the robots at work for customers. There are also longer pieces about how the company works and how robotics is developing. It is a company channel, so it does not teach in depth, but it shows the state of the art.
Some highlights include:
Spot gets a robotic arm, letting it pick up objects and open doors.

Atlas learns to grip and move objects, a hard problem for humanoid robots.

How Spot can map a site and find its own way around without a human driving it.

Boston Dynamics has over 3.4 million subscribers.
Robots like these combine mechanical design, electronics, control systems and software in one machine. Watching them is a good way into mechatronics and robotics engineering. It also helps to ask what it would take to build them: motors, sensors, batteries and a lot of programming. Each of those is its own career path.
