The Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) fantastic “The River People Exhibition” has opened a vote to find the publics favourite image. The winning images will go on permanent display at ICEs headquarters at One Great George Street.
The exhibition offers an insight into how the infrastructure of the Thames impacts on both the enviroment and the people who use the waterway day to day. The exhibition is a reminder of how Engineering has come to shape our use of the river – from the Thames Barrier to Tower Bridge.
Matthew Joseph, from Wandsworth, is the photographer behind the exhibition.
There are two parts to the collection. River People shows the stories of those who live on the river or are connected to it. Super Highway shows off a series a stunning series of time-lapses that showcase the hustle and bustle of life on the river that takes place alongside London’s river infrastructure.
Once voting closes the winning photos will be placed on permanent display the ICEs headquarter at One Great George Street. Sitting alongside a range of civil engineering artwork.
