European Council gives the go ahead to real emissions tests for drivers

The European Council has announced that the green light has been given for the adoption of its first set of rules on real driving emission tests (RDE) to measure pollutants emissions of light vehicles. The first package, which will start from 1^st January 2016, introduces the concept of connecting portable emissions measurement systems with vehicles tested.
