Engineering YouTube channel
Engineering stories, technology and pioneers from the Institution of Engineering and Technology, from AI and energy to the history of computing. A good fit for future electrical and electronic engineers.

This is the YouTube channel of the Institution of Engineering and Technology, or IET, which describes itself as one of the world’s largest engineering institutions, with more than 156,000 engineering and technology professionals in 148 countries. The channel sets out to share the engineering stories, technologies and people shaping the future.
It covers artificial intelligence, energy and emerging technologies, engineering careers, the Wiring Regulations and the pioneers who changed the world. With more than a thousand videos, it mixes short films for a general audience with conference and technical content for working engineers.
Some highlights include:
The story of Ada Lovelace, the mathematician who worked on Charles Babbage’s Analytical Engine and published the first algorithm intended to be carried out by such a machine.

The Small Robot Company, a Shropshire agri-tech start-up using robotics and AI to change the way food is produced, after winning an IET innovation award.

An inside look at the BT Tower, one of London’s best known landmarks, on a visit organised by an IET network.

The IET has over 29,000 subscribers.
The history and start-up films are the best place to begin. They connect electrical, electronic and computer engineering to real products and people, and show where a degree or apprenticeship in these areas can lead.
