Engineers create new type of rice that produces less greenhouses gas

Engineers from Sweden and China have genetically engineered the new strain of rice to produce less methane. Methane is emitted in rice farming and is responsible for up to 17% of human methane emissions. Cutting methane is seen as crucial to fighting climate change, and in the trial conducted, the rice grew at the same standard as traditional growing methods.
