Engineering YouTube channel
Films about the tunnels, railways, dams and bridges that civil engineers build, from one of the world's oldest professional institutions. Great for anyone curious about infrastructure.

The Institution of Civil Engineers channel describes itself as the home of civil engineering on YouTube. It is run by the Institution of Civil Engineers, one of the world’s oldest professional institutions, and is dedicated to promoting the profession of civil engineering and highlighting its importance to society.
The channel holds more than a thousand videos. They range from short films on famous projects around the world, such as the Channel Tunnel, the Delhi Metro and the Kariba Dam, to careers films, lectures and event recordings made for working engineers.
Some highlights include:
A history of the London Underground, made for the network’s 150th anniversary, from post-war rebuilding to the world’s first computer controlled underground railway on the Victoria line.

The Channel Tunnel, which is really three parallel tunnels: two for trains and a smaller central tunnel for ventilation and access, on average 45 metres below the sea bed.

Engineering Happiness, in which civil engineers from London projects including Crossrail dance to show young people how much they enjoy their jobs.

The Institution of Civil Engineers has over 30,000 subscribers.
The project films are a clear way into civil engineering, showing how big infrastructure is planned and built. The professional talks go deeper and suit older students thinking about a civil engineering degree or apprenticeship.
