Engineering YouTube channel
Feature length documentaries on cosmology, space and time, created and narrated by David Kelly. Suits students drawn to physics and astronomy.

History of the Universe is created and narrated by David Kelly. He also makes History of Humankind and Voices of the Past, and runs History of the Earth with his brother.
The channel sets out to tell the whole history of the universe. Videos explain the Big Bang, black holes, the nature of space and time, and big open questions such as multiverses and the far future. Many episodes run for over an hour. The style is calm narration over detailed space visuals, and the tone stays thoughtful rather than sensational. Each episode builds on the last, so it rewards watching a few in order.
Some highlights include:
A long documentary on how the universe began and what physicists think happened in its first moments.

An exploration of what space and time actually are, and how Einstein changed our view of them.

A look at whether time travel is possible within the laws of physics as we understand them.

The channel has over 1.1 million subscribers.
Cosmology is not engineering, but the physics behind it is the same physics that engineers rely on. Students who enjoy these ideas often go on to physics, aerospace or space engineering degrees. The telescopes, satellites and detectors that answer these questions are all designed and built by engineers. This channel is a good way to stay curious about the big picture while studying A level physics.
