A new record has been set by the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) during tests of atom collisions. During the trials on Wednesday night, two opposing beams of protons were steered into each other to create four collision points that registered 13 trillion electronvolts –surpassing the previous record of eight trillion during the HTC’s first trial in 2013.
